Road accident statistics are used in the national and international monitoring of road safety outcomes. The statistics are used, for example, as a basis for traffic safety measures and traffic planning, and in research serving the sector. The road traffic accident statistics contain information about road traffic accidents reported to the police in Finland, and data on fatalities and injuries.
